While working on the concept of each house, I try to feel the desires of my clients. I often assemble a solid interior from colourful images and desires as a large-scale puzzle. In this case, the interior was dictated by geography and the wishes of the customer. It is an interior in the Greek style that combines elegance, simplicity and comfort. Light notes of antiquity coexist with the beauty of the Mediterranean coast, snow-white walls, blue shades and characteristic decorative elements. In this article, we will consider the main features of the interior in the Greek style and give examples of its implementation.
The main features of the Greek-style interior:
- Light shades. The main colour in the Greek interior is white – it creates a feeling of lightness, spaciousness and cleanliness. In addition, shades of beige and blue are often used, reminiscent of the colours of the Greek sea.
- Natural materials. Natural materials such as wood, stone, rattan and cotton are used to create a Greek-style atmosphere. This gives the interior a cosy and natural feel.
- Light furniture. Greek-style furniture usually has a light and airy shape. It can be made of light wood species or covered with pastel fabrics.
- Decorative elements. Decorative elements such as ceramic tableware, statuettes, paintings with images of the sea or antique motifs, mosaics can often be seen in the Greek interior.
Examples of Greek-style interiors:
- Living room. In the Greek-style living room, white furniture sofas with soft cushions in blue or beige colors can be used. You can decorate the space with ceramic dishes on the shelves and paintings with seascapes on the walls.
- Bedroom. In the Greek-style bedroom, you can use a bed with a wooden frame, white linens and pastel bedspreads. You can complement the interior with pots of greenery and soft textile elements.
- Kitchen. In the Greek-style kitchen, you can use wooden furniture with white trim, kitchen towels with marine patterns and ceramic dishes. The emphasis can also be placed on the use of natural materials in the decor.
In general, the Greek-style interior represents lightness and proximity to nature. It is perfect for those who appreciate the tranquility, comfort and beauty of the Mediterranean atmosphere.
