Choosing a colour scheme is an important aspect in the design of any room. Colours can have a significant impact on our mood and emotional state. Research shows that colours can also affect our energy, concentration, and ability to relax. However, the choice of colour should be consistent with the age of the people in the room, as different age groups may have different preferences and needs.
For a child’s room, especially for small children, the most suitable colours are light and bright shades. Children at this age usually like bright colours that can stimulate their imagination and activity. Pink, blue, yellow, green – all these colours can act as an excellent choice for the children’s rooms.
Teenagers, on the other hand, may have volatile preferences and moods. Blue and green colours can have a calming effect and help improve concentration and relaxation. They can also reflect teenage taste and style, creating an atmosphere that reflects their personality.
For adults, the colour scheme depends on their preferences and needs. In the bedrooms, it is recommended to use calm and neutral colours such as beige, grey or white, which create an atmosphere of relaxation and tranquility. Bright and saturated colours can be used in the living room to give the room a sense of cheerfulness and energy. In the office or workspace, it is recommended to use colours that promote concentration and creativity, such as blue or green.
However, do not forget that colours are subjective and each person can have their own preference. Some people may prefer darker shades, while others may like bright and saturated shades. It is important to take into account not only age, but also the individual preferences of each person when choosing a colour solution.
In general, the choice of colour solutions depends on the age of people and their individual preferences and needs. It is best to discuss this or consult with experts in the field of interior design, who will help you choose the perfect colour solution for your room. As a result, an atmosphere will be created that will match not only the age, but also the spirit of the people in this room.
Of course, the choice of colour is deeply individual, and colour and stylistic preferences can change with age. Therefore, we must assume that the colour of your space may not be a constant value.
However, with the help of drapery, the choice of curtains, decorative elements, applications, and light sources, you can play with the shades and the overall atmosphere of the room without radically changing the style.
It should also be added that the abundance of bright colours, a large number of patterns, acidic colours, bright lights can get boring over time.
A lot also depends on the lighting. Sometimes, with different lighting intensity, the feeling of the interior as a whole changes. Therefore, when planning and choosing a colour scheme, you need to take into account the overall illumination of the room.
However, you should not go against your own tastes, if you are comfortable sleeping in a red bedroom or you are more comfortable with a dark range. In my experience, there have been cases where a person was absolutely comfortable in a black bedroom. But to give some contrast to the room, white decorative elements and small coloured “spots” were chosen, which slightly changed the overall scale of the room.
If there is one room where several people often gather, then it is advisable to make some colour zoning with smooth transitions, and use plasterboard structures to delimit the zones of the room based on personal preferences.
