Laminate is one of the most popular and in–demand floor coverings, which is characterised by strength, durability and a variety of designs. Laminate flooring can be an ideal solution for any interior design, whether it is a living room, office space or a public institution.

In this article, we will consider the main characteristics of laminate, its classes and varieties, as well as options for parquet and parquet boards.

Laminate classes:

Laminate is divided into classes depending on its purpose and intensity of use. There are usually 4 classes of laminate:

  • Class 21/23: designed for residential premises with low traffic (bedrooms, children’s rooms).
  • Class 31/33: used for commercial premises with high traffic (offices, shops).
  • Class 32: combines characteristics for residential and commercial premises.
  • Class 34: the most durable and wear-resistant laminate, suitable for rooms with very high traffic (shopping malls, restaurants).

Types of parquet:

Parquet is an elite floor covering, which consists of massive wooden planks. There are several types of parquet:

  • Lamellar parquet: consists of several layers of wood glued together. This type of parquet is less prone to deformation and humidity.
  • Mosaic parquet: it consists of small square wooden elements glued onto a special grid. It can be laid in various patterns.
  • Piece parquet: consists of massive wooden planks, which are laid in the form of a chessboard. It is the most durable and wear-resistant type of parquet.

Parquet board:

Parquet board is a simpler and more affordable flooring, consisting of solid wood. It is characterised by durability and resistance to wear. The parquet board can be laid both in a traditional style and in various patterns and compositions.

The choice between laminate, parquet and parquet board depends on your needs, interior style and budget. Each of these types of floor coverings has its own advantages and features that should be taken into account when choosing. Regardless of your choice, proper care of the floor covering will help it maintain its original appearance for many years to come
